Milling Mondays
Description:
Whole Grain Grinding Service: wheat, rye, barley, oat groats, rice
Mondays 10 am to 2 pm.
While homesteading in Northern California during the mid 70s, I helped my French friends Juan Ponce’ and Mirelle Tissedre’ open the first West Coast whole wheat sourdough bread bakery. The Ponce’ Bakery served communities from the Klamath River north of Mt. Shasta to the Salmon River in Apple Valley Oregon. Ponce’ traveled to France to hire a baker, and then onto Denmark to purchase the finest mill made – a D.D.D. President. The grinding stones are carved from rock in Russia (no composites). Included in his purchase was a smaller tabletop model of the same mill, which eventually became mine.
Bring your whole grains to be milled into the finest flours imaginable.
Milling price: 50 cents per pound.
